Hot mulled wine

  • 750 ml red wine, dry or semi-sweet
  • 100 ml water
  • 1/2 pcs orange, washed, with peel on
  • 2 tbsp cane sugar
  • 4 pcs cinnamon stick
  • 5 pcs cloves, whole
  • 3 pcs allspice, whole

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a pot by slicing the orange.
  2. Start to heat the mixture on medium-high heat, avoid boiling. Stirring frequently to help the sugar melt.
  3. Heat the mixture until simmering gently, then 5 minutes more.
  4. Serve the mulled wine by discarding the spices and orange. If needed, filter it with a sieve.

Good points

Absolutely no good points. This is a punch :)

You can choose to make mulled wine from white wine of course. All you have to do is to switch the orange to lemon, and use less cinnamon (2 sticks) but more cloves (8pcs).
